Household Expenditures on Food and Beverage Products in EU Countries

Number of Businesses in the EU Food and Beverage Industry
- According to the “Annual Industry and Service Statistics 2015” data published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) in 2016, the number of businesses in the Food and Beverage Industry, which was 42,560 in 2014, decreased by 40 to 42,520 in 2015. Compared to 2009, when the number of businesses was 40,077, the total number of businesses increased by 6.1%.
- While the number of businesses in the Food Industry remained almost unchanged in 2015 compared to the previous year, the number of businesses in the Beverage Industry decreased by 5.8% (31 businesses).
- In the industrial sector, the number of businesses increased by 1%, from 340,822 in 2014 to 343,857 in 2015. Manufacturing, which showed a similar trend to the industrial sector, saw its number of businesses increase by approximately 1% to 335,311 from 2014.
- TÜİK’s published data on the sub-sectors of the Food and Beverage Industry is based on 2014 figures, as data for 2015 has not yet been released. Therefore, the 2014 data was used for the sub-sector analyses.
