The Soft Drink Manufacturers Association (MEDER) was founded in 1994 with the aim of advancing and growing the soft drink industry in Turkey, as well as increasing its contribution to the national economy.
The association brings together soft drink producers, both domestic and foreign capital companies, scientists, businesspeople, and industrialists in Turkey. It aims to organize, promote solidarity, facilitate knowledge exchange, and develop industry standards in line with the country’s benefit, encouraging the formation of professional rules and standards for the soft drink sector.
It works to educate its members and consumers on soft drink production, distribution, and other related issues. It supports scientific research and promotes these findings. The association also monitors the relevant standards, keeping in mind environmental and public health.
MEDER facilitates the accurate communication of the issues and views of the soft drink industry to the legislative and executive branches of the government, its affiliated institutions, and the public.
MEDER consists of the five largest companies in the Turkish soft drink sector, representing 95% of the industry.
